I will say this about Joss Whedon.
Most writers they kill off people and you’re sad. As you properly should be… but Whedon is the only writer who could honestly make me…. I don’t even know how to describe it. It’s like with him and his characters it is real life. I can detach myself from most show deaths because I remember that it’s a show, but AND I DON’T KNOW HOW, but Joss Whedon makes me invest so much in his characters that I relate to them and incorporate them into my personality and then when that character dies or when something bad happens to that character I feel this overwhelming sadness that comes closer to actual reality than any other writer has ever gotten me to a character.
